Our Article of Faith

This Article of Faith reflects our commitment to the essential doctrines of the Christian faith and serves as a foundation for our life and ministry as a church.

The Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, co-eternal, and of one essence, yet distinct in personhood. The Father is the Creator and Sustainer of all things; the Son, Jesus Christ, is the incarnate Word, fully God and fully man, who accomplished our salvation through His life, death, and resurrection; and the Holy Spirit is the Comforter, Sanctifier, and Empowerer who indwells and guides believers. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 1:1-14, 14:16-17).

The Sufficiency and Authority of Scripture

We believe that the Bible, comprised of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. It is the supreme authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and practice. Scripture is sufficient to reveal God’s will for salvation and godly living and serves as the ultimate guide for the church and individual believers. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105).

The Church

We believe that the church is the body of Christ, composed of all true believers who are united by faith in Him. The church exists to glorify God by worshiping Him, proclaiming the gospel, discipling believers, and demonstrating His love in the world. The local church is an expression of the universal church, gathering for worship, teaching, fellowship, and service. (Ephesians 1:22-23, 4:11-13; Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27).

The Sacraments

We believe that Jesus Christ instituted two sacraments: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is a sign and seal of God’s covenant of grace, symbolizing the believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. It is to be administered to believers as a declaration of faith in accordance with the promises of God.

The Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of Christ’s sacrifice, a proclamation of His death, and a reminder of His promised return. These sacraments are means of grace, to be observed by believers as acts of obedience and worship. (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-4; Acts 2:38-39; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to all believers for the building up of the church and the advancement of God’s kingdom. These gifts, which include both natural abilities and supernatural manifestations, are to be exercised in love, in accordance with Scripture, and for the edification of the body of Christ. We affirm that the Spirit’s gifts are diverse and distributed according to His will, and we commit to using them in an orderly and God-glorifying manner. (1 Corinthians 12:4-11, 14:1-40; Romans 12:6-8; Ephesians 4:7-13)

Salvation by Faith Alone

We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, for the glory of God alone. It is not earned by works but is the free gift of God, granted to those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Through His atoning death and resurrection, believers are justified, adopted into God’s family, and assured of eternal life. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:23-24; Titus 3:5-7; Galatians 2:16)

The Second Coming of Christ

We believe in the personal, visible, and glorious return of Jesus Christ to establish His kingdom in its fullness. At His coming, He will judge the living and the dead, bringing eternal life to the redeemed and eternal judgment to the unrighteous. This hope inspires believers to live holy lives and to proclaim the gospel until He returns. (Matthew 24:30-31; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 22:12-13)
